I find that if your title is in ALL CAPS HELPS IT TO STAND OUT.
Remember that what is said is just as important as how it’s said. So with your ad you should make it specific to what you do. Make it so people know what they are clicking on. Or they might not click your add at all. If you wash cars, say car wash. Don’t say something that doesn’t convey the message of what you are trying to accomplish.
From there, now someone is going to actually look at your ad. So it can either stand out, and look great and deliver the information or it could just be text.
I want to show you how to embed pictures into your Craigslist ad… and not just like this.
But really good, really big pictures into craigslist like this.
Ok, so here is how you do this. First of all, my ad has some animation in it. So the play button flashes, and there are little things I can do to create a motion graphics GIF file and then put it into my craigslist ad. The service I’m going to turn you onto doesn’t support animated gif’s so… that’s maybe more technical then you’re doing but anyways. I digress.
Ok, so you have a few nice ad’s in photobucket. They look good, they are big. Now you need to image embed code, and to switch out the clickable link to your website.
So now that you have created the ad, and changed the clickable link to kick over to your website instead of photobucket. You are done. For me there is a bit more though.
So if I built your website, it’s 99% sure I built it using wordpress. What you want to do is get the plugin “prettylink” which is a link or URL shortener with tracking. So for example, say I have an affiliate account with a solar panel company. They link they give me is www.solarpanels.com/affiliate.8171772882.urlcode/customer/tracking:ID=91919188282.2012modeltype/solar/panel
now, if that’s my affiliate link and I want to send it in an email to someone, wouldn’t it be easier if i could just say, my website JoshDarville.com/Solar
pretty links allows you to do that, and track hits.
So the last peice of advice I have… which my company builds these sales funnels. Is put a picture of a Video on your image, and have a flashing PLAY button, or something enticing the viewer to click on the add… a CLICK HERE button if you have a static image. But some how get them to click it.
When people click on my youtube video… which it’s just an image, but when they are in craigslist and they click on that youtube video, they get kicked over to a page on my website which has an autostart video embed into it. So it’s like, click the image, and then I’m there saying, “Hi thanks for clicking on my add”
So there are some of the… I won’t call them basics, but let’s say, There is a break down of some advanced CL techniques.
